Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive

About us

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko is an independent Crown entity that regulates the electricity market. We are a kaitiaki of electricity, and our purpose is to enhance New Zealanders’ lives, prosperity, and environment through electricity.

The electricity industry is at a pivotal moment, with the journey towards renewable energy sources and innovation reshaping how we operate. To meet these challenges and opportunities, we’re evolving as an organisation – growing our capabilities, expanding our reach, and building a team ready to create a brighter, more sustainable future for Aotearoa. Our focus is on making a difference through bold thinking, collaboration, and delivering value for the communities we serve.

If you're proactive, discreet, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, we’d love to hear from you.

You will support the organisation through:

  • Managing the CEO’s diary, correspondence, and travel.
  • Preparing and reviewing documents, presentations, and briefings.
  • Supporting Board processes, including agendas and minutes.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Anticipating issues, problem-solving, and keeping the CEO focused on priorities.

Are you someone with the following?

  • Experience as a senior level Executive Assistant, ideally in government, a regulatory environment or complex organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. Experience working with a Board would be an advantage but is not necessary.
  • A can-do attitude with a high level of initiative.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to anticipate the needs of others, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail and high level of accuracy.
